Pointillism and Portraits

Pointillism is one of those things many artists would refuse to do. Do you know why? Because it's a pain in the hand.

Portraits and Memories

This is another portrait done by Vincent. I actually really love this portrait. The reason is simple. It's done from my favorite photo of my father. Vincent drew every detail perfectly. The shadows, the mustache, even the look in the eyes is exactly as I remember it. I never imagined it to be possible to do an ink portrait so perfectly, but alas. An interesting part is that the picture was actually of a very poor quality, it was very old, but Vincent was able to fill in all the gaps. A perfect gift, a perfect memory.

Do you have that special photo that has an ocean of memories attached?

Monster Portrait

This is monster portrait drawn in pen and ink. I did this one recently and thought it wasn't scary enough, I was told by others however that it is too scary, so I guess after drawing all those monster drawings I got a bit desensitized. Would like to update you on my recent state, first of all I was in the gallery this past week and it was an incredible experience. I'm glad I ended up in Erie, there is so much going on here in terms of arts.
For the next few days I'll be working on a 2 page comic that I want to submit to Heavy Metal magazine in hopes that they will love my artwork as much as I love their magazine, or at least love it enough to publish it. Well, I'll be going back to my work.

Portraits

I have drawn portraits before, but haven't tried making a living of of it until now. Over the last few days I drew 2 portraits in different inking style and priced them according to the time it took me to draw them. At the moment they are actually very cheap as far as portraits go, in the future I'm planing to increase the price though, I mean honestly, $50 for a portrait? Thats just too cheap, but I have to start somewhere.
